HOW TO INCORPORATE SEEDS INTO YOUR MAN'S DIET

    November 17, 2014

Chia seed pudding is not just for you girls; it's not your dainty pink martini, think more along the lines of scotch, your man's preferred drink. Seeds are an incredibly healthy way to incorportate protein, fiber, minerals and amino acids into your significant other's diet. Though my husband loves his morning omlette, sometimes I prepare chia seed pudding, over night oats or a sheep's yogurt parfait for him for breakfast, and these breakfasts are filling and leave him with tons of energy.

Three of the healthiest seeds that are available everywhere today are chia, flax and hemp. Chia seeds are full of protein, antioxidants, iron, fiber, magnesium, calcium and omega-3's. When mixed with liquid, their consistency turns into thick gel.

Hemp seeds contain all 20 amino acids, so they are extremely healthy and important for vegetarians. They are rich in phytonutrients, minerals, vitamin E and essential fatty acids.

Flax seeds are a good source of fiber, magnesium, Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, antioxidants and minerals. Flax seeds when mixed with water can also be used as an egg substitute for baking. Mix 1 tablespoon of flaxseed meal with 3 tablespoons of water and let sit for about 5 minutes.

Now to incorporating these superfood wonders into his diet:

    Chia seed pudding

Sprinkle chia, hemp and flax on oatmeal

    Blend with smoothies

    Mix in with yogurt

Sprinkle on avocado toast, almond or cashew butter toast

Make your own granola with all three seeds

Mix with fresh berries for a quick healthy snack

Sprinkle on one of your favorite bowls (brown rice with vegetables, eggs, fish or meat)

    Add into your pancake batter

    Sprinkle on your favorite salad

Some other healthy seeds include pumpkin, sunflower, and sesame.
