LONDON: HEALTHY CITY GUIDE
February 10, 2015
I cannot believe how quickly this past week flew by. I was in London and then in Megeve, a beautiful mountain resort in the French Alps for a wedding - and didn't have one moment to write a post, or even cook! So happy to be back in my kitchen after a week and get back to what I love doing. The few days I spent in London were amazing. Whenever I travel, I love to simply wander around and this time I searched for the newest and best spots since I haven't been to this exciting city in a few years. The food scene in London, though always incredible, has changed a lot of the past few years. As I was obviously focusing on the healthy part to the scene, I did a lot of research and realized that so many incredible places exist. Between great workout classes, juice bars, and vegan restaurants, my list is pretty extensive. The scene of course is nothing compared to that in NYC or LA, but it is getting there, slowly growing, and much bigger than that in Geneva! I event went to Whole Foods Market to see what types of health conscious products they sell and I discovered a lot of brands I haven't heard of. Of couse I had to buy a bunch of things since the availability is a bit more limited here in Geneva.
As you can see through my Instagram, I am a huge Ottolenghi fan. Not only because I am half Persian and he puts an incredible spin on Iranian cuisine, but because he takes Middle Eastern food and makes it simple and so beautiful. My husband and I went to NOPI one night, his only restaurant in London (the other 3 are delis/take-a-way only, or with a table for 10 max) and the food was amazing. Here are a few pictures from the weekend and my list of London's healthiest spots!
